CMAS 1st European Championship of Apnea

Antalya, Turkey will host the CMAS 1st European Championship of Apnea from August 30 to September 6, 2008.

The Confederation Mondiale Des Activites Subaquatiques (CMAS) – World Underwater Federation is organizing the first European Championship of Apnea. 44 athletes from Croatia, France, Italy, Russia, Spain, and Turkey are expected to participate in the event.

The athletes will compete in two diciplines:

Jump Blue Apnea
The performance with or without a mono fin or bi-fins, around a hawser square each edge with 15 (fifteen) meters in a depth 10 (ten) meters, using only the muscular power of the athlete and without having recourse to any mechanism whatsoever, even if activated by the muscles.

Dynamic Apnea
The performance with or without a mono fin, bi-fins or finless, the face below the surface of the pool water, using only the muscular power of the athlete and without having recourse to any mechanism whatsoever, even if activated by the muscles.
