Delegations and jury

The honorary President of the 2008 edition is Leslie Leaney. Born in London in England, he was instructor in the British Scuba Club. He had an important dive career all around the world. Passionate by History, he co-founded ā€œHistorical Diving Society USAā€ in 1992. In 1993, he created ā€˜Historical Diver Magazine’.

A delegation of American personnalities of dive world will come with him in Antibes.

Bill Todd, the scuba dive trainer of the future cosmonauts who will go to Mars, will be present this year again. Jacques Rougerie, sea architect, has just replaced Andre Wogenseki as member of Fine Arts Academy in architecture section. The 35th Festival will honour him.

This year, jury Presidents are : Kurt Amsler (photo), Bernard Rothan (portfolio), Patrice Lardeau ((film cat. B), France Rothan (film cat. A).

The theme of the 5th Forum for Ocean is : ā€˜Ocean and climatic changes’ with participation of :
- Jean-Louis Herman : the inflaw in Pacific islands
- Capucine Melon / Ifremer : fish migrations
- Christophe Lefebvre / PDG groupe Mer UICN France : biodiversity and ecosystem modifications
- Bruno Voituriez / Expert COI : general mecanisms ocean/atmosphere
- Philippe Vallette / World Ocean Network Co-President : economic and social impacts of Ocean climatic changes
- Daniel Mercier
- Ariel Fuchs.

Laurent Balesta will exhibit some of his photos taken in depth, and will also present his last picture book.

Henri Eskenazi will show films in live about whales under the songs of professional singers like Japonese Yukin Yamamoto.

German Fifty Fathoms Editions will show amazing photos of famous American photographers Kefrig, Shimlock Jones and Ernst Brook, who came several times in the Festival.

Bernard Abeille and his band will liven up Festival parties.

Amos Nachoum will give a presentation about photographing big animals in the wild.

The 35th edition of the World Festival of Underwater Pictures looks promising and its organisation in Juan les Pins is well appreciated by the majority of people.
Daniel is always hale and hearty and will be present this year again.
