The competition was judged by freediving governing body, AIDA (International Association for the Development of Freediving) and the former record holder at 96m was British freediver Sara Campbell and this record was claimed earlier this year.
Of the dive Natalia said "Today I did 101 because Sara (Campbell) before tried 100. Nobody tried it before me. Now, I tried it."
This marks Natalia's 25th world record. She is currently holding five of the possible six world freediving records. This outstanding individual was classed as the top freediver in the world in 2005 and 2006, even over and above the men's category.
