Tunisia's supposedly best scuba diving is off the Galite Islands, which are located a three-hour boat trip from Tabarka. Visit undersea caverns, check out wrecks, and see an abundant marine life like damselfish, bream, and grouper. As a diving destination Tunisia is not nearly as developed as it's neighbors Italy and Malta, but on other hand it offers uncrowded dive sites. Besides the underwater activities Tunisia is a fascinating country with a long history, and some really remarkable historical sites. Add to that fairly good infrastructure and political stability, this part of north Africa is well worth a visit.
