Battery change in Versa Pro console
I've acquired a Versa Pro console, and I'd like to know how I go about removing the computer from the console in order the change the battery. I've changed the battery on a wrist mount computer, my Veo 250, but not from a console. I don't to risk breaking it in my attempt.

Ditching weight ii
There's another thread already which asks a question about whether anyone is guilty of ditching their weights. What I'd like to know is WHY or in what dangerous situation would one ditch their weights?:dork2:

How to improve gas management
As very new diver I have started my ascent at a point defined by the divemaster (1000 PSI, 750 PSI ...etc).
What numbers should I keep track of so if at any point my buddy has a loss of air we can share without having to compromise ascent rates?
Any rules of thumb or general comments are appreciated.

This is Brand New IN the Carrying POD
Includes
1 3mm xl full suit
1 carrying pod
1 instadry towel
1 instadry ballcap
Asking 140.00 plus shipping for the suit
I bought this at a charity auction and it won't fit me it is to big I need a large
Insta DryŽ® Full Jump SZ XL
The most sophisticated, high-performance suit Henderson makes, the Insta Dry has outstanding thermal qualities. Its top-of-the-line neoprene doesn't suffer from compression at depth, yet does slowly conform to the unique shape of the diver's body so that after several dives it begins to fit more like a custom suit. This full jumpsuit also boasts an anti-microbial interior that promotes suit-to-skin contact for a full-body seal, yet won't hold the little nasties that cause funky wetsuit smells. Neo Skin seals at the cuffs and an adjustable collar also protect against water exchange. After the dive, this suit sheds water quickly and is dry, ready for the next adventure in minutes.

Morehead City NC Dive Trip!!! June 09
The dive op in Florida I dive with is planning a trip to Morehead City NC June 24, 25, and 26 2009. The cost of the trip is only $475, and includes 3, 2 tank dives and lodging in a dive lodge. tank fill's or rentals are not included. Spearfishing and lobster hunting is permited. We will also be trying to photograph some sand tiger sharks! We will be driving down, so we can all caravan.
Jen and I will be going. I know most of the group from Florida who usually goes on these trips, and have been to the Bahamas, Utila and Tobago with them, and can honestly say, you won't find nicer people!
If you are interested, curious or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Need tips for Playa del Rey and vicinity
Hi Guys,
I actually have been to PDC before, 2 years ago, but for a very short period. This time I am going to spend 7 days and will have my Family and significant others as company.
3 of us are divers, and the other 4 do some snorkeling.
When I was there I did a dive at Moc-che shallow and Jardines. They were both nice dives. I also did the Cenotes Dos Ojos and La Ponderosa which were amazing!
As far as cenotes go I thinking of hitting the same ones again, unless you tell me there are some other amazing ones.
What else should I dive? I thought about the wreck, seems pretty cool.
As for the whole family, what beaches you guys think we should visit, things we could do, etc...?
Thanks so much for your tips

Iraq Care Packages?
A good friend of mine is shipping off to Iraq for a year, and I'd like to get an idea of what I can send to him.
I've asked Senor Google, and he has a lot of good suggestions, but most seem tailored to troops who are out on the front lines. My bud is an officer and as far as I can tell he's going to be stationed full-time at Camp Victory in the green zone. So I don't know if stuff like foot powder and moleskin is going to be quite as useful for him (though if there's a general shortage of stuff like that maybe he can give them away to those who need it)? Similarly, I now know the base has stuff like movies, coffee, cafeteria food etc. (and here I thought everyone just got MREs all day and night), but I have no idea what kind of quantities/variety are involved (e.g., would general stuff like instant or fresh ground coffee, cookies, etc. be usable or just redundant)?
So anyways, I know there are a lot of military peeps here so I thought I'd ask if anyone had suggestions on what kind of amenities would make life easier on-base (and also, suggestions on what NOT to send - I know he likes durian of all things, but I gotta think about the other troops too).
Thanks!

How would you handle a free flowing reg?
I have been chatting with someone about how to handle a free flowing reg.
Please state the following before your answer:
Years certified:
Certifications held:
Agency:
Number of dives:
And if you are an instruc or DM how long have you been one:
Situation 1: A buddy team of 2 divers begin a dive. A minute or so into the dive one diver has a free flow. After several attempts to stop it, the reg continues to free flow. Divers are about 15' deep. It is a one tank dive and each diver only has one tank. It will be the only dive of the day. How should each member of the buddy team respond to this situation? Please outline a step by step response for each member
Situation 2: A buddy team of two divers are on a dive and 30 minutes into the dive at 55' one diver begins to have a free flow and after several attemps it will not stop. Both divers have 800 psi. It is a one tank dive and each diver only has one tank. It will be the only dive of the day. How should each member of the buddy team respond to this situation? Please outline a step by step response for each member.
Next:
What skills should one have or practice that would help a diver to be able to follow the outline you have listed above?
