About 90 miles from NYC is a playground for scuba divers. Dutch Springs, a limestone quarry, attracts northeast scuba divers to train, practice, try new gear and socialize.
The dive season at Dutch starts at the beginning of April and runs through the middle of November. But a number of hardy divers will spend the last day of 2011 getting wet at Dutch.
Every year Dutch Springs opens its gates for the New Years Eve day dive. This year is no exception. The quarry will be open from 11 am to 2 pm. You must arrive by noon and be out the gate by 2 pm. The dive is open to all certified divers. Buddy diving is required. If the weather is bad, call 610-759-2270 after 8 am.
