Shipwreck hunter David Mearns told reporters on Friday the Seahorse Spirit would head out to sea by Saturday morning, with the initial phase of the search to start on Sunday.
Mr Mearns says the object that they have now spotted is in an area the ship probably sank in and is the right shape and size.
Search boat the Seahorse Spirit will continue scanning rugged areas of seabed while weather conditions are favourable before returning to the site of the object in the next few days
