Green turtle surprises researchers

The Newcastle Herald has reported that while many of us took a holiday break, Max the green turtle was busy powering up the coast and surprising researchers.

The 110 kilogram green turtle was nursed back to health at Taronga Wildlife Hospital after he was found with internal problems at Tanilba Bay in November. Believed to be about 50, Max has since become the first male green turtle to be monitored by a long-life satellite tag, alongside females Crabby and Tracey.
