Aquatica announces its AD800 housing for the Nikon D800/D800e
Monteal based Aquatica has announced the release of the AD800 housing for the Nikon D800/D800e SLRs.
Aquatica states that the new housing incorporates a multitude of refinements, amongst which is one to offer access to the Fn and DOF preview buttons for the first time. This is done via a special toggle lever that can access the two buttons and although the depth of field feature in itself is of little use underwater, the many Custom Functions roles that can be assigned makes it a very special enhancement.
The AD800 housing also features dedicated ISO, AF Lock and AF levers, the latter two with a rotating collar that prevents ambient pressure from pushing them.
The housing also features three ports for additional bulkheads, and there are three standard versions, one with Nikonos, one with Ikelite and the third with Nikonos and fiber optic bulkheads.
An actual release date for the AD800 housing has not yet been provided, but Aquatica has specified that the the retail price will be $3,359.00
